A Summer Smile
Patient Review
Dr. Rydel and her team are amazing! While going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things to do, the team at A Summer Smile goes above and beyond to change that view. They take the time to explain what they are doing and to ensure you are comfortable. Great People! Great Conversations!

Patient Review
I have been a patient of Dr. Rydel for over ten years and I would not consider going to see anyone else for my dental care. The team at A Summer Smile is so nice and seem happy to be there doing the work they do. If you are looking for a new dentist this is the place to try.

Patient Review
I’m writing this review to warn future patients before they end up in the same situation I did. To be clear, this dental office as a whole does not currently reflect the issues I experienced. What follows is based on my personal encounter with a previous dentist who used to work here. I came in for a routine check-up and was quickly told I needed multiple fillings — including for teeth that showed no symptoms, no visible holes, and no pain. One tooth in particular “caught slightly,” but instead of offering conservative options like watch-and-wait or remineralization, the dentist went straight to drilling. Later, a more evidence-based and prevention-focused dentist confirmed that this tooth could have been monitored or treated non-invasively. There was no real discussion, no imaging shown to me, and significant pressure to proceed. In hindsight, this approach felt outdated, aggressive, and profit-driven — the kind of dentistry that prioritizes billing over preserving natural tooth structure. It’s important to note: the dentist responsible for this experience no longer works here and is now employed elsewhere. I cannot say this reflects the current team. In fact, Dr. Summer Rydel and the hygienists/dental assistants here are outstanding — warm, professional, and ethical. They should not be met with any skepticism, and I appreciate their work deeply. I’m leaving a 4-star review, not to harm the clinic’s reputation, but to bring constructive attention to the experience I had — an experience that happened under this roof, even if not by its current providers. Dentistry should be about preserving natural teeth, not rushing to invasive treatment. If you value honest, prevention-first care, make sure to ask questions, explore all options, and never assume that a white coat guarantees integrity.
